He said he argued against building the school, not against having Prep North. He felt it should be located at Corpus Christi, which ended up closing their high school shortly thereafter. Perhaps the funds could then have been available to build a new McBride in North County.

Another alternative that may have worked was allowing any McBride Legacy to attend Chaminade at Archdiocesan tuition. But that was done only for the transfer students.

Paul MichalskiAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16465198.post-60750992686814576222017-04-08T09:02:42.806-07:002017-04-08T09:02:42.806-07:00I wrote a short book about my experiences at Mcbri...I wrote a short book about my experiences at Mcbride between 1966-1970. Such circumstances can't be repeated, but such a spirit can perhaps be found in other schools where men a challenged to think critically, act morally, be sportsmen, and be good. John W. Wonder if we had an active alumni association in 1971? Obviously, our tuition was very low. Many of us were easily able to earn that during the summer--why not raise tuition? Lots of questions, I guess. Many a time I get greedy and wish my high school was still around. As Mike Garanzini pointed out, no one ever contacted me regarding spiritual, moral, physical or financial support. Sad.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08890870828860228480noreply@blogger.com
